Match
Summary:
Honduras
tried to attack from the outset but were dominated by Italy
for most of the first half. The Squadra Azzurra took little
more than 20 minutes to score three goals, the 2-0 one being
a superb header by Ambrosini on a cross from the right. Two
minutes after getting his second goal for Italy, Gianni
Commandini was on the score-board once more, this time with
an own goal which instilled some hope into the Honduran
time. The second half was very physical but also exciting
even if neither team conceded another goal. Before a largely
supportive crowd, Italy had several break-aways on long
balls but failed to capitalise on their chances. Honduras
never stopped pressing but just could not score.
